    It is up to you whether you wish to provide such personal information for these purposes. If you do not, you will not be able to register or login for access to this website and you will have to contact us by telephone, fax, in-person or through regular mail.

    How We Use Your Information

    We use your personal and financial information for the purposes consistent with managing your pension, for example including but not limited to:

    • Verifying your identity;
    • Provide you with requested services;
    • Provide information to you about your benefit, and any other information about your pension;

    Our employees

    Access to your information is restricted to employees who have a legitimate business purpose for accessing it.

    Unauthorized access to and/or disclosure of member and retiree information by an employee of SFPP Corporation is strictly prohibited. All employees are required to maintain the confidentiality of member information at all times and failing to do so will result in appropriate disciplinary measures, which may include dismissal.

    Outside service suppliers

    SFPP Corporation shares information with APS, the designated benefit service provider for your pension. APS is subject to and adheres to the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act requirements.

    We may use service providers to perform specialized services on our behalf. Our service providers may sometimes be responsible for processing or handling personal information. They are provided only the information necessary to perform these services. In addition, they are contractually obligated to protect the information in a manner consistent with Alberta privacy legislation, our privacy policies and security practices.

    Cobrowsing sessions

    The cobrowse tool on our plan website is a secure feature designed to enhance your experience by allowing you to share your screen with a member services representative in real-time for guided assistance. Data in transit is encrypted, and the cobrowse software vendor (Recursive Labs) has no access to the information displayed during the cobrowsing session.

    If you initiate a cobrowse session, the representative can only view the page you are on within SFPP.ca. You can be confident that your screen will not be recorded or retained and the representative will not have access to any other information on your device. Additionally, your security questions and answers, password, and Social Insurance Number (SIN) will remain confidential and will not be visible to the representative during the session.

    Other third parties

    We are committed to keeping your personal information confidential. We do not sell or rent your personal information and will only share it as permitted or required by law, to comply with laws, regulations, subpoena(s) or court order(s).

    Keeping Your Information Accurate

    You have the right to request the correction of personal data held about you if you believe it is inaccurate or incomplete.

    We do our utmost to ensure that our information about you is accurate and complete. As we make decisions based on our information, we encourage you to help us keep your information current. If you can update the incorrect information yourself (e.g., address, beneficiaries, bank account), you should do so.
