Your 2022 Tax Slip

The following tax slip information is important for anyone who received or made one of the following payments in 2022:

  • A regular pension payment made to a pensioner
  • A payment made to beneficiaries or pension partners
  • A pension payout or lump sum payment
  • A buyback purchased through SFPP

Your pension tax document is required to file your annual taxes.

If you are receiving an SFPP pension or a survivor’s benefit, your 2022 tax slip will be available online in the first week of February. Log in to your secure account to view and print your statement. The login button is located at the top right corner of the SFPP website.

If you are not registered for an online account, or you have not chosen Go Green communications, mailed tax slips are sent out by the end of February and you can expect to receive it by mid-March.

The deadline to confirm and update your mailing address or change your communications preference is January 24, 2023.

If you don’t have an account, you can quickly create one by clicking “Login” and following the “Register Now” instructions. Once you are logged in, you will find a link to your tax slip on the dashboard or by navigating to the Tax Slip page.

If you already have an account and your communications preference is set to Go Green, you will not receive a printed statement in the mail. You will need to log in and download or print your own tax slip.

If you do not require a paper copy of your tax slip from SFPP (especially if you file your taxes electronically), please log in and change your communications preference to Go Green. This will ensure that your tax slip and other correspondence from SFPP will no longer be mailed to you. Instead, you can access them from your secure online account.

If you received a payment from SFPP and are no longer an active Plan member, or you purchased a buyback through SFPP: Your tax slip will be mailed to you by the end of February 2023. You can expect to receive it by mid-March 2023.

Planning for your 2023 income tax: You can change the amount of tax deducted from upcoming pension payments by filling out a new provincial or territory TD1 Personal Tax Credits Return Form with Canada Revenue Agency.  Read more about income taxes and your pension.
